About us and the role

An opportunity has arisen for a Casual Lettings Caretaker based at Krishna Avanti Primary, Croydon, supporting the smooth operation of out-of-hours lettings.

The role involves managing access to the site, preparing and setting up facilities for a range of users, and ensuring all areas are maintained to a high standard before, during and after use. You will act as a key on-site presence, helping to resolve issues, respond to queries and ensure a safe and welcoming environment at all times.

You will need to be organised, dependable and confident in handling responsibilities independently, with a flexible approach to working evenings, weekends and school holidays.

This is a practical and rewarding opportunity to support both the school and the wider community.

Please note that we may close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, we'd encourage you to submit your application as early as possible.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing Multi Academy Trust with schools based in London, the midlands and the South West of England. All Avanti schools provide pupils with an outstanding education rooted in the inclusive and distinctive Avanti Schools ethos of educational excellence, character development, and spiritual insight.

What will you do?

  • Open and secure the premises for lettings, ensuring facilities are safe, clean and ready for use before and after bookings.
  • Oversee lettings on-site, providing excellent customer service, responding to queries and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Maintain equipment and liaise with cleaning staff or contractors to ensure the site remains well-presented and functional.
  • Monitor the condition of facilities during and after use, addressing any concerns and ensuring compliance with school policies and safety procedures.
  • Work flexibly across evenings, weekends and holidays, taking responsibility for site management and upholding the school’s ethos at all times.

Why should you apply

Avanti exists to help each person become a well-rounded human being through intellectual, moral and spiritual growth, and so make the world a better place.

You will be working in a fantastic environment, with:

  • Great opportunities for professional development
  • NEST pension scheme (subject to eligibility)
  • O2 discounts, Specsavers corporate eye test vouchers
  • Flexible working opportunities
  • Eligible for NUS Card and CSSC membership
  • Well-being programs (retreats, yoga, wellness apps)
  • Cycle-to-work Scheme
  • Free staff lunch and on-site parking

What are we looking for?

  • Experience working in a customer focussed environment
  • Effective communication skills both written and oral to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Competent with Windows and Microsoft Office applications
  • An understanding of health, safety and security issues and relevant legislation affecting schools
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people
