About The Role
Avanti House Primary School is seeking a dedicated Administrative Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and approachable individual who enjoys working in a busy school environment and thrives in a varied role.
You will play a key part in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school, providing high-quality administrative and front-of-house support while helping to create a positive experience for pupils, staff and visitors.
Working as part of the school office, you will contribute to maintaining an efficient and well-organised environment, ensuring processes run effectively and information is accurately managed. The role also offers the opportunity to engage with the wider school community and support key activities throughout the academic year.

What will you do?
- Provide day-to-day administrative and clerical support, including managing correspondence, maintaining records, and completing routine office tasks.
- Act as a first point of contact at reception, handling enquiries, signing in visitors and supporting pupil welfare, including first aid and liaison with parents and staff.
- Support pupil welfare by assisting with first aid needs and liaising with parents and staff where required.
- Assist with the organisation of school activities, events, and trips, as well as general school operations.
- Promote safeguarding, confidentiality, health and safety, equality and the school’s values in all aspects of your work.

What are we looking for?
- Experience of general clerical /administrative work.
- Evidence of the ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
- Effective use of ICT packages and keyboard skills
- Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy and pay attention to detail
- Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people
